The Environmental Action Programme is led by the needs of local people in the four communities of the Garw Valley, Bridgend. The team of dedicated Groundwork staff help to co-ordinate and facilitate small-scale, physical environmental projects. The project officers will work with local people of all ages to encourage them to get involved with their projects.

The Environmental Action Team work with communities to help turn derelict, waste or neglected areas into valuable and useable community spaces. The team is on hand to assist local groups with fund-raising, project planning, training and getting the job done. Landscape Architects and Environmental Artists are close at hand to assist with adding that creative touch to any project.

By taking positive action communities within the area now have the chance to shape and change their local environment. This fantastic opportunity has been made possible by funding received through the Rural Development Plan for Wales 2007-2013 which is funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
